How can there be self-help groups?

The Japanese are always quick to point out that brown eyes see better in the sun than blue eyes. Is there truth to that?

Why do we say “It’s all down hill here from here” when referring to things getting worse? Isn’t up hill worse? As a cyclist I don’t get it
